189. Disclosure – You & Me (Flume Remix)

Yes, I’ve put my fair share of Disclosure up already but it’s great to see when someone takes a track and totally flips it. Australian post-dubstep (is he? I don’t know what the fuck to call it) producer Flume winds up a massive crank of feel good electronicness in this remix which can only be best described as well prescripted madness. His self titled 2012 album comes highly recommended by me, a strong level of Burial garage influences mixed with some upbeatness offering something genuinely unique.

112. Disclosure feat Eliza Doolittle – You & Me #newmusicmonday

I may end up accidentally putting every single Disclosure song up here by the time their album comes (3rd June, for those asking). This is probably the most garage-y thing they’ve done in my book, given the 2 step swing of the drums punching through. I’m undecided if it’s another “Latch” or “White Noise” but it definitely has shades of the excellent “Running” remix and they’ve managed to extract the soul from Eliza Doolittle, a previously hickery-dickery, summery folk artist.

I wrongly predicted UK Garage would make a comeback last year – I was wrong, because no producers managed to actually make anything good. Looks like I was a year late, this will have ironic hipsters wiling out worldwide.
